Barcelona manager Luis Enrique admits Pedro Rodriguez could leave Camp Nou amid reported interest from Man United
Luis Enrique has admitted that Manchester United target Pedro Rodriguez could leave Barcelona.
The Red Devils have been linked with a £24m move for the World Cup winner in recent weeks as Angel di Maria edges closer to a move to Paris Saint-Germain.
I want him to stay, I’ve known him since the B team, but there’s no changes and if there are changes that will be down to the player
Pedro has struggled to nail down a regular starting spot under Barcelona manager Enrique over the past 12 months following the arrival of Uruguay international Luis Suarez.
And the former Spain international, who took charge of the Catalan side last summer, discussed Pedro’s future at the four-time European champions as talk of a move to Old Trafford intensifies.
“Maybe some players might leave but right now there’s nothing to comment on,” Enrique is quoted as saying. “I dont like to talk about hypotheses. It’s not nice to talk about negatives, I like to think things will work well.
“We’re prepared to deal with problems that may arise over the season. He’s a fantastic top-class player who won everything and showed for club and country what he can do.
“I want him to stay, I’ve known him since the B team, but there’s no changes and if there are changes that will be down to the player.”
Pedro has won five La Liga crowns and three Champions League titles since breaking into the Barcelona side 11 years ago.
Jnited manager Louis van Gaal has already signed five players in the summer transfer window after he snapped up Bastian Schweinsteiger, Morgan Schneiderlin, Memphis Depay, Matteo Darmian and Sergio Romero.
