Mesut Ozil: Arsenal know how to beat Liverpool

Arsenal playmaker Mesut Ozil says the Gunners have Liverpool's card marked

Mesut Ozil has warned Liverpool that Arsenal know how to beat the Reds ahead of their clash at The Emirates on Monday night.

The Gunners were 4-1 winners against Liverpool in north London in the Premier League in April which effectively ended the Merseyside outfit’s bid to finish in the top four.

We are at home and we know exactly how we can beat Liverpool

Liverpool, who have won their opening two Premier League games of the season, haven’t sealed three points at Emirates Stadium since 2011 after a run of three defeats and a draw.

And Ozil, who moved to Arsenal in a club-record £42.5m deal from Real Madrid in August 2013, is confident the FA Cup holders can deliver another convincing display on Monday night.

“I remember that we delivered a really convincing display. In the first half we decided the game because we had a high level of concentration and wanted to utilise our potential,” Ozil told Sky Sports.

“The manager gave us tasks on the pitch and we executed them perfectly and that’s what we will have to do on Monday again. We are at home and we know exactly how we can beat Liverpool.

“We have to believe in ourselves, as we have the potential to beat every team, and we will show that on Monday too.”

Ozil teed up Olivier Giroud for Arsenal’s opener in a 2-1 victory over Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park last weekend.
