Schweinsteiger moved to the 20-time English champions in an £11m deal from Bayern Munich last month after a decorated 13 years at the Allianz Arena.
Thirty-three year old Carrick revealed the type of questions that he has been asking the Germany international in a bid to improve his won game.
“He has achieved so much,” Carrick told United’s website.
“It is like any new signing, the boys – not just myself – ask questions and you try to pick things up, how they have done things in their past experiences and try to learn from it.
“He has been at the very top. He is a World Cup-winning captain – what more can you ask for?”
Schweinsteiger made his Premier League debut for the Red Devils with 30 minutes remaining at Emirates Stadium.
And the 31-year-old midfielder, who won the Bundesliga outfit last season, took to Twitter to reflect on his amazing first appearance at Old Trafford.
He shared the photo above on his Instagram account and wrote: “Many thanks for your fantastic support at my first @manchesterunited match. #mufc”
