Ozil and Cech lead birthday tributes for Arsenal goalkeeper

Mesut Ozil and Petr Cech both use social media to wish Arsenal goalkeeper David Ospina a happy 27th birthday

Mesut Ozil and Petr Cech both took to social media to wish David Ospina a happy birthday after the Arsenal goalkeeper turned 27 on Monday.

Ospina has yet to make a first-team appearance for Arsenal this season after falling behind new signing Cech in the pecking order in Arsene Wenger’s starting line-up.

However, the Colombia international is clearly a valued member of Wenger’s squad, and two of Arsenal’s top stars were quick to send their wishes to the shot-stopper on Monday on Twitter, with Ozil posting the update below and Cech retweeting the update from the Gunners’ official feed.

Ospina was on the bench as Arsenal secured a 1-0 win at Newcastle United in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon to move up to fifth place in the Premier League table.

He jetted off to New York on Sunday afternoon to join up with the Colombia squad for the forthcoming international round of fixtures.

The Gunners’ next game is a clash with Stoke City at Emirates Stadium on Saturday 12 September after the international break.
