Alexis Sanchez stayed behind for extra training after Arsenal's loss to West Ham on Sunday
Alexis Sanchez was in no mood to put his feet up after Arsenal’s shock 2-0 loss to West Ham United on Sunday.
The Chile international was a second-half substitute as Arsene Wenger’s men slumped to a disappointing defeat at Emirates Stadium in their Premier League opener.
Sanchez only returned to Arsenal after an extended summer holiday last week but Wenger had no choice but to throw the Copa America winner into the fray as the north London side chased the game against the Hammers.
The 26-year-old’s introduction failed to spark an Arsenal comeback – however, the forward took to social media on Sunday evening to reveal that he had been continuing his pre-season preparations at Emirates Stadium straight after Sunday’s defeat.
Sanchez shared the picture above on his personal Instagram account and wrote: “Training after the match today… This just starts gunners ⚽️⚽️💪🏽”
Sanchez joined Arsenal from Barcelona last summer in a £35m deal and helped the Gunners finish third and win the FA Cup.
