Bastian Schweinsteiger reflects on Manchester United's 1-0 win over Tottenham after playing the final 30 minutes
Bastian Schweinsteiger took to social media to reveal on Saturday his delight at helping Manchester United kick off their Premier League campaign with a 1-0 win over Tottenham.
The Germany midfielder was a second-half substitute at Old Trafford as Louis van Gaal’s men secured three points in their top-flight opener thanks to Kyle Walker’s first-half own goal at Old Trafford.
Schweinsteiger was given an incredible welcome by the Old Trafford faithful on his home debut following his transfer to the Red Devils from Bayern Munich this summer.
And the 31-year-old, who played the final 30 minutes against United, was thrilled to help his new side get off to a winning start in the Premier League.
Schwinsteiger posted the picture above of himself on his personal Instagram account and wrote: “Our first victory of the new season after a tough match at Old Trafford. What a feeling!”
United were drawn against Club Bruges in the play-off round of the Champions League on Friday as they bid to reach the group stage of this season’s competition.
