John Terry was thrilled to make a return to Stamford Bridge on Wednesday night.
The Premier League champions suffered a disappointing 1-0 defeat by Serie A side Fiorentina after Jose Mourinho’s side struggled to impress in front of their own supporters.
Chelsea have failed to win any of their pre-season games in 90 minutes and lost 1-0 to bitter rivals Arsenal in the Community Shield at Wembley last weekend.
However, Terry’s enthusiasm didn’t suffer a knock as he posted a photo from their pre-match ceremony where the title-winning squad were introduced to the fans at The Bridge.
Terry wrote on his Instagram page: “Great to be back at the bridge last night. @chelseafc”
The Blues start the defence of their Premier League title with a clash against Swansea City at Stamford Bridge on Saturday evening.
Terry, who scored five goals in 38 Premier League games last season. is bidding to win a fifth Premier League crown this coming campaign.
