John Terry has welcomed Chelsea striker Diego Costa to Instagram.

The Chelsea striker actually joined the photo-sharing app midway through their title-winning Premier League season.

But seemingly, the Spain international was too busy scoring goals for the west London side to keep his Instagram account updated regularly.

And Blues skipper Terry, who has 1.3m followers on the social media site, helped give Costa a nudge in his bid to build on his 313,000 following.

Terry wrote on his Instagram page: “Welcome to Instagram @diego.costa. What a player and great guy.”

Costa has in fact posted a photo on average every one-and-a-half weeks since he joined up to the photo-sharing app in March.

The Brazilian-born striker scored 20 goals in 26 Premier League appearances following his £32m move to Chelsea from Atletico Madrid last summer.

The Blues forward is currently a doubt for their clash against Swansea City at Stamford Bridge on Saturday evening due to a hamstring problem.
