Karim Benzema doesn’t appear to be going anywhere this summer.

The France international has been relentlessly linked with a move to Arsenal after reports emerged that new Real Madrid manager Rafael Benitez was willing to sell the striker.

However, the former Chelsea and Liverpool boss has ruled out Benzema leaving The Bernabeu this summer, although that has failed to put a stop to the transfer speculation.

Arsenal were thought to be close to signing Benzema in a £48m deal on Wednesday, with Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger keen to bolster his attacking options at The Emirates.

However, Benzema took to Instagram to post a Real Madrid promo photo and pen a not so subtle message about where he feels his loyalties lie.

Benzema wrote: “KB9 ⚽ / Come back soon…”

The French striker netted 15 times in 29 appearances in La Liga last season.

Benzema has scored 133 goals in 281 games in all competitions during a six-year stay in the Spanish capital.
