Liverpool defender Mamadou Sakho takes to Instagram to post a shot from training ahead of trip to Arsenal
Mamadou Sakho stressed the importance of working hard but with a smile as the Liverpool centre-half looked to win back his starting spot in Brendan Rodgers’s side for the trip to Arsenal on Monday.
The France international has been omitted for the Liverpool manager’s match-day squads for their opening 1-0 victories over Stoke City and Bournemouth.
However, the Reds have still reportedly offered the towering defender a new lucrative five-year contract over the past week despite Sakho finding himself out-of-favour at Anfield.
So it was no surprise the Liverpool defender managed to keep smiling during Saturday’s training session with the thought of his Reds future secure despite his first-team woes.
Sakho wrote on his Instagram page: “Training today ! #work and #smile 👌🏼 #LFC #Liverpool #YNWA”
The centre-half moved to Liverpool in a £16m deal from Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint-Germain in 2013.
Sakho has scored one goal in 34 Premier League appearances for the Merseyside outfit over the past two seasons.
