Liverpool defender Nathaniel Clyne is looking forward to the new season after the Reds beat Helsinki in final pre-season friendly
Nathaniel Clyne says he can’t wait for the start of the Premier League after Liverpool finished their pre-season campaign with a 2-0 victory over Helsinki on Saturday.
Substitutes Divock Origi and Philippe Coutinho scored in the second half of their final friendly game in Finland to maintain their unbeaten cent record so far this summer.
Clyne featured against Helsinki at the Olympic Stadium after the England right-back completed an £11.5m move to Anfield from Southampton last month.
And the Liverpool defender reflected on their win and turned his thoughts to the new Premier League campaign in his Instagram post on Sunday morning.
Clyne wrote: “Good team performance today. Looking forward to the start of the season feeling fit and ready”
The England full-back scored five goals in 104 appearances for the south coast club during a three-year stay at St Mary’s.
Liverpool start their bid to finish in the Premier League’s top four with a tricky trip to Stoke City at Britannia Stadium next Saturday.
