Liverpool defender Nathaniel Clyne can't wait for the start of the new Premier League season

Nathaniel Clyne says he is counting down the days until Liverpool start their Premier League campaign.

The Reds make the trip to the Britannia Stadium to face Mark Hughes’s Stoke City side in their opener in Sunday’s late kick-off.

Liverpool signed Clyne in an £11.5m deal from Southampton in the summer transfer window following the exit of Glen Johnson.

And the England international took to Instagram to post a behind-the-scenes snap of his recording session, presumably with Sky Sports.

Clyne posted the following caption on his Instagram page: “Counting down the days until the new season begins… #LFC”

The England full-back has scored a respectable five goals in 104 appearances for the south coast club during a three-year stay at St Mary’s.

Liverpool have already signed Brazil international Roberto Firmino, Manchester City midfielder James Milner, Burnley striker Danny Ings, Bolton goalkeeper Adam Bogdan and Charlton Athletic defender Joe Gomez this summer.
