Liverpool defender Martin Skrtel gears up for the visit of Bournemouth by watching classic film, Gladiator

Martin Skrtel prepared himself for the visit of Bournemouth by watching Ridley Scott’s Gladiator on Friday night.

The 30-year-old centre-half has emerged as a leader at the back for Brendan Rodgers’s side over the past couple of seasons.

Skrtel and his Reds team-mates managed to get their vengeance for a humiliating 6-1 defeat at Britannia Stadium last May thanks to a hard-fought 1-0 win at Stoke City last weekend.

And the Liverpool defender put his feet up to watch the Russell Crowe epic on Friday ahead of their games against the Cherries on Monday night.

Skrtel wrote on the photo-sharing app: “Friday night with GLADIATOR!!!top movie, dont mind to watch it again…have a nice weekend everyone!!! #ynwa #liverpoolfc #premierleague #m37s”

The Slovakia international will be tasked with helping the Reds to keep back-to-back clean sheets after a 1-0 win against the Potters last weekend.
