Manchester United midfielder Memphis Depay reflects on his first Champions League goal for the Red Devils on Twitter
Memphis Depay took to Instagram to show off his personalised laces after the Manchester United scored his first Champions League goal in a 3-1 victory over Club Brugge.
The Netherlands international helped to cancel out Michael Carrick’s eighth-minute own goal with his first strike for the Red Devils since a £25m move from PSV Eindhoven earlier in the summer.
The 21-year-old bettered his opening strike just before half-time as the United forward curled a brilliant strike from outside the area past the Club Brugge goalkeeper to complete the comeback.
Marouane Fellaini sealed a 3-1 win with an added-time strike ahead of the return leg in Belgium, and Depay couldn’t wait to take to Twitter to reflect on his first Champions League goal with a unique post.
Great feeling to slay my first giant with @ManUtd. Time for the next one @UnderArmour. #SlayYourNextGiant pic.twitter.com/JymVJnhly8

Depay had failed to score against Tottenham Hotspur and Aston Villa in his opening games for the 20-time English champions in the Premier League.
