Martin Skrtel welcomes Jon Flanagan back to Liverpool after his lengthy injury lay-off

Martin Skrtel took to social media on Tuesday afternoon to pay tribute to Jon Flanagan as the Liverpool starlet hopes to enjoy an injury-free campaign for the Reds.

The 22-year-old defender missed the whole of last season with a knee injury but will be hoping to break back into Brendan Rodgers’ first-team as the Merseyside outfit aim to launch a bid for Champions League qualification.

And Reds defender Skrtel used his Instagram account to welcome the youngster back into the fray at Liverpool’s Melwood training ground.

Skrtel posted the picture above on his personal account and wrote: “Look who is back…main man @jonflan38”

Liverpool kick off their Premier League campaign with a trip to Stoke City on Sunday afternoon after having slumped to a 6-1 defeat in their final game of the 2014-15 campaign.

The Reds, who have signed the likes of Christian Benteke and Roberto Firmino this summer, finished sixth last season and missed out on qualification for the Champions League.
