Tottenham Hotspur defender Toby Alderweireld reflects on a 1-1 draw with Leicester City at King Power Stadium
Toby Alderweireld has urged Tottenham Hotspur to refocus ahead of their next Premier League game after a disappointing stalemate at Leicester City on Saturday.
The north London side appeared to be heading for three points after Delle Ali scored in the 81st minute, however, in-form Foxes man Riyad Mahrez levelled a minute later.
Alderweireld moved to White Hart Lane in an £11.5m deal from Atletico Madrid this summer, but the centre-half is still waiting to record his first Spurs win.
But the former Southampton defender is refusing to be downbeat despite a return of two points from a possible nine after three Premier League games.
He wrote on Instagram: “During the game yesterday. We worked hard but unfortunately it wasn’t enough for the win. Our fans were incredible! Now focus on next Saturday. COYS!”
Alderweireld was linked with a move to Southampton and Tottenham this summer after he spent last season on loan at St Mary’s.
However, the Belgium international opted to link up with compatriots Jan Vertonghen and Nacer Chadli at the north London outfit.
