Wayne Rooney is urging Manchester United to stay positive after their draw with Newcastle United
Wayne Rooney took to social media on Sunday afternoon to urge Manchester United to keep their heads high after their goalless draw with Newcastle United on Saturday.
Louis van Gaal’s side couldn’t break down the visitors at Old Trafford in their third Premier League game as they were held to a draw by the Magpies.
Rooney played the full 90 minutes as the Red Devils were held and dropped their first points of the season in the top flight.
But the Manchester United captain took to social media to urge United to do whatever they can to bounce back when they take on Club Bruges in the return leg of their Champions League play-off tie on Wednesday night.
England and United captain Rooney posted the picture above on his personal Instagram account on Sunday and wrote: “Disappointing result yesterday but important to keep going and put it right in the Champions League on Wednesday.”
