Wayne Rooney took to social media to reveal his excitement ahead of the new Premier League season on Friday morning.

The Red Devils are set to get the 2015-16 campaign under way when they host Tottenham Hotspur at Old Trafford in Saturday’s early kick-off.

Louis van Gaal’s side have been training hard at their Carrington complex as they look to build on last season’s fourth-placed finish under the Dutchman.

And Rooney is clearly looking forward to be back in action for the Red Devils against Spurs on Saturday lunchtime.

Rooney shared the pictures above on his personal Instagram account and wrote: “Pre-season almost over and just one last session before our opening game against Tottenham tomorrow. Can’t wait to be back at Old Trafford! @manchesterunited”

Rooney scored 12 goals and made five assists in 33 Premier League games for Manchester United last season as the Red Devils finished fourth in Van Gaal’s first season in charge at the club.
