Piers Morgan: Arsenal need world-class striker like Sergio Aguero

Arsenal fan Piers Morgan demands Arsene Wenger sign a world-class striker like Sergio Aguero this summer

Piers Morgan is one of Arsenal’s most outspoken fans, and unsurprisingly he had plenty to say after Super Sunday.

The Gunners edged to a 2-1 victory over Crystal Palace courtesy of Olivier Giroud’s first-half strike and Damien Delaney’s own goal at Selhurst Park.

Manchester City, meanwhile, were emphatic 3-0 winners against defending Premier League champions Chelsea as Sergio Aguero ran the Blues defence ragged.

And Morgan, who has been urging Arsene Wenger to sign Karim Benzema in recent weeks, took to Twitter to point out Aguero is the type of striker that Arsenal need to win the Premier League title.

Aguero has scored 79 goals in 122 Premier League appearances for the Citizens since his £35m move to The Etihad from Atletico Madrid in 2012.

Chile international Alexis Sanchez was Arsenal’s highest goal-scorer in the Premier League last season with a return of 16 goals in 35 outings.
