Rodgers delivers latest Liverpool injury update ahead of Potters clash
Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers says Daniel Sturridge will hopefully be ready to make a return in four weeks
Brendan Rodgers says Joe Allen is set to be sidelined for up to a month, but confirmed Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge is on course to return in September.
The Wales international suffered an injury problem during his 2-1 victory over League One side Swindon Town in a pre-season friendly last weekend.

Allen, 25, scored one goal in just 21 Premier League games during an injury-hit 2014/15 campaign.
And Rodgers admitted that Allen’s fitness setback was a blow ahead of their trip to Stoke City at Britannia Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
“He’ll probably miss three to four weeks, which is disappointing. He certainly won’t be available for the weekend,” Rodgers told his pre-match media conference on Friday afternoon.
Rodgers added that England international Jon Flanagan is on the right track to return to competitive action in December after spending almost 13 months on the sidelines.
“The great news with Jon is that he’s working really well and is on target to come back just before Christmas, which would be great news for the squad,” Rodgers continued.
And on star striker Sturridge, the Liverpool manager pinpointed the start of next month as a target for the England striker.
“Daniel will hopefully be back towards the beginning of September – he’s working very hard,” Rodgers added.
