Rodgers gives latest Liverpool injury update after Arsenal stalemate

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers says he will assess Adam Lallana and Jordan Henderson on a day-by-day basis

Brendan Rodgers says he will assess Jordan Henderson and Adam Lallana on a day-by-day basis after the pair missed Liverpool’s goalless draw with Arsenal at The Emirates on Monday night.

James Milner captained the Reds in the absence of Henderson, who was nursing a foot injury which forced him off during their 1-0 win against Bournemouth at Anfield last week.

England international Lallana, meanwhile, picked up a thigh problem ahead of their tip to north London which forced Rodgers to start with Emre Can and Lucas Leiva at Emirates Stadium.

Speaking to Liverpool’s website following their stalemate, Rodgers gave an update on the fitness of the Reds midfielders.

“We’ll just wait and see over the course of the next week,” Rodgers told Liverpool’s website.

“It was a disappointment, of course, to lose both of them for this game but the boys came in and did extremely well so we’ll just assess that day by day.”

Liverpool remain unbeaten in the Premier League after back-to-back 1-0 victories over Stoke City and Bournemouth to start the Premier League season.
