Schneiderlin backs new Man United signing to shine against former club
Morgan Schneiderlin believes that Memphis Depay will be relishing facing PSV in the Champions League with Manchester United
Manchester United midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin has backed Memphis Depay to come up with the goods when the Red Devils face PSV in the Champions League group stage.
Louis van Gaal’s men have been drawn against CSKA Moscow and Wolfsburg as well as the reigning Eredivisie champions, as they return to the top table of continental football following a one-year absence.
Speaking to MUTV, Frenchman Schneiderlin insisted his new teammate will not be fazed by a return to his former club and is instead focused on making an impact in England.
“He’ll be looking forward to it, for sure,” said Scheiderlin. “He did very well at PSV but now he’s at United and wants to make his mark in England.
“Knowing him he’ll like to play well and put on a show, but first and foremost he’ll make sure he’s focused and working hard for the team.

“We all need to treat it like it’s just another game. There will be a lot of emotions for him and I’m sure he’ll enjoy going back to his old club.”
The 21-year-old Depay will certainly be looking to help his new club to the trophy’s knockout stages, as well as hoping his stunning European performances translate into improved form in the Premier League.
The £25m Dutch winger moved to Old Trafford from the Eindhoven-based club this summer, and scored twice as United beat Club Brugge 7-1 on aggregate to qualify for Europe’s elite cup competition.
