Schweinsteiger, Januzaj and more: Man United stars react to Club Brugge win
Manchester United midfielders Bastian Schweinsteiger and Marouane Fellaini reflects on their 3-1 win on Twitter
Bastian Schweinsteiger described Marouane Fellaini’s goal as crucial after Manchester United beat Club Brugge 3-1 in the first leg of their Champions League play-off at Old Trafford on Tuesday night.
The Red Devils, who missed out on a place in Europe last season, made a nervy start after Michael Carrick scored an unfortunate own goal in the eighth minute at Old Trafford.
However, Memphis Depay scored twice before half-time to turn the play-off tie around in United’s favour before Marouane Fellaini added a late third to secure a comfortable first-leg win.
And Schweinsteiger discussed the vital importance of Fellaini’s late goal on Twitter after their win:

The man himself, Fellaini, was understandably happy to mark his first appearance of the season with a goal:

His compatriot Adnan Januzaj, who retained his place in the starting line-up, stressed how crucial the first-leg win was to the home side:
