Three reasons Man United must sign Gareth Bale at all costs

Shona Duthie takes a look at three reasons why Manchester United must sign Gareth Bale this summer

They need to improve their forward line

It has been well reported that even though Manchester United have won both their Premier League games, the victories have not been convincing. It has left fans wondering if United can go the whole distance and challenge for the Premier League. They won both games 1-0, but in the game against Tottenham, it was an own goal that gave them the three points. Gareth Bale at Tottenham was nothing short of spectacular and it is quite certain that he could do the same for United. Wayne Rooney has been played in a centre-forward role and may feel he is better suited to the No.10 role, as he has struggled in front of goal. United should do all they can to secure Bale’s signature for the Welsh man to leave The Bernabeu.

He could make them title contenders

As mentioned above, it remains to be seen if United can last the whole season with Rooney as their forward player. Rooney can be unreliable, but Bale is confident and composed in front of goal as well as off the ball. Fans still remember the remarkable goal he scored in the Copa del Rey against Barcelona to give Real Madrid the trophy. Bale has now had a taste of what it is like to win the Champions League and with his experience it can only help Van Gaal’s new United team. If United and Van Gaal are serious in their desire bring back the glory days, Van Gaal needs to remind fans that he means business in the summer transfer window. Bringing in the likes of the 26-year-old into the Red Devils squad would impress fans from within and outwith the club.

Bale would be their main man at Old Trafford

A return to the Premier League and the chance to be a focal point of a team would only mean great things for Bale’s confidence. It could see Bale performing as spectacularly as he did when last in England. Van Gaal likes to play with an attacking style and Bale would be linking up with a manager that suits his style of play. It has been suggested that Bale is no longer enjoying life with the Los Blancos. The time is now to try and sign Bale and make him an incredible force in the Premier League once again. United need a commanding man in their field. Memphis Depay, has shown some ray of light, however, Bale has experience being dominant on the pitch. United must try everything in their power and land what could be the best summer signing of the window.
