Tottenham transfers: Erik Lamela considering Inter move, claims father

Erik Lamela is in talks with Inter Milan over a potential move away from Tottenham, says the player's father

Erik Lamela is in talks with Inter Milan over a potential move away from Tottenham Hotspur, according to the midfielder’s father.

The Argentina international has struggled to make a lasting impact at the north London side since his £30.75m move to White Hart Lane from Roma in 2013.

Lamela has scored just two goals in 38 Premier League appearances for Spurs, although the 23-year-old has netted four times in cup competitions.

But the Spurs midfielder could be returning to Serie A on loan after his father lifted the lid on talks with Inter Milan.

“We’re talking with Inter, their interest is real,” Lamela told Gazzetta dello Sport.

“We’re waiting for some news, we are willing to start a negotiation. We would come back in Serie A and we like Inter option.”

Lamela has scored just six times in 59 games in all competitions for the north Londoners in his career at the north London club so far.

The Lilywhites are still searching for their first Premier League win of the season after a 1-1 draw with Leicester City at King Power Stadium.

Spurs lost 1-0 to Manchester United in their opening game of the season before a 2-2 draw with Stoke City at White Hart Lane earlier this month.
