Tottenham transfers: Mauricio Pochettino delivers striker update
Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino delivers an update on his search for a striker
Mauricio Pochettino says he is relaxed about Tottenham Hotspur’s pursuit of a striker before the summer transfer window shuts.
The north London side are struggling up front after Spurs manager Mauricio Pochettino had to withdraw Harry Kane midway through the second half of their 2-2 draw with Stoke City due to fatigue on Saturday.
The north London side are reportedly on the brink of signing West Bromwich Albion striker Saido Berahino in a touted £15m deal.
Speaking to the media following their stalemate with Stoke at White Hart Lane, Spurs manager Pochettino accepts that he needs one or two more players to add to his Tottenham squad.
“When will the club sign a striker? Maybe next week, or the next – we need one or two players more,” Pochettino said.
“You start the season and the transfer window is still going on, the business happens in the middle.
“Maybe it is something to fix in the future but these are the rules for the Premier League. We are all on the same page.”
Kane has netted 21 times in 34 Premier League games last season as he scooped the PFA young player of the year award last season.
Pochettino has signed Toby Alderweireld, Dele Alli, Kieran Trippier and Kevin Wimmer so far this summer.
