Tottenham transfers: Mauricio Pochettino wants new signings

Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino wants new signings before close of transfer window

Mauricio Pochettino says Tottenham Hotspur will look to add some new players to their squad after a narrow defeat by Manchester United at Old Trafford.

Spurs fell behind despite a positive start against the Red Devils after England defender Kyle Walker inadvertently guided the ball past his own goalkeeper under pressure from Wayne Rooney.

The visitors had four shots on Sergio Romero’s goal but couldn’t find a way past the United signing as Harry Kane struggled up front in a lone striker role.

Pochettino is expected to sign a striker in the coming weeks amid reports Emmanuel Adebayor and Roberto Soldado will leave White Hart Lane.

Speaking to BT Sport after the 1-0 loss, Pochettino confirmed his desire to add some new players to his squad before the close of the transfer window.

“We need to add some players. The team today showed that we are in a good way. I am happy how we performed,” Pochettino said.
