Andy Cole: Arsenal treated Champions League like League Cup

The Manchester United legend discusses Arsene Wenger's team selection with Ian Wright

Andy Cole has accused Arsenal of treating the Champions League like the League Cup.

The Gunners started second-choice goalkeeper David Ospina ahead of Arsenal number one Petr Cech for the visit of Olympiacos at The Emirates on Tuesday night.

The Colombia international made a mistake for the Greek champions’s second goal in their surprise 3-2 Champions League win against the north London side.

The result leaves FA Cup holders Arsenal pointless at the bottom of Group F ahead of back-to-back games against Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich.

Cole took to Twitter after spotting Ian Wright’s desperate tweet, and the pair engaged in a discussion about Arsenal’s shock defeat.

Arsenal lost 2-1 to Dinamo Zagreb in their Champions League group-stage opener earlier this month.

Goals from Theo Walcott and Alexis Sanchez couldn’t prevent the Gunners succumbing to a 3-2 defeat last night.
