Andy Murray tweets Man United star Luke Shaw after horror injury
The British No1 expresses his sadness to see young athletes suffer horror injuries
Andy Murray has expressed his hope that Luke Shaw can make a “full and speedy recovery” from the Manchester United defender’s double leg break.
The England international suffered the horror injury after a heavy tackle from Hector Moreno in United’s 2-1 defeat by PSV Eindhoven in their Champions League group-stage opener.
Shaw is set to undergo an operation upon his return to Manchester after the 20-year-old full-back required 10 minutes of treatment on the pitch before he was stretchered off.
British No1 Murray endured an injury-hit 2014, although the two-time Grand Slam winner didn’t suffer an injury as severe as Shaw’s double leg break.
Nevertheless, the 2013 Wimbledon champion took to Twitter to send a message of support to the United defender following Tuesday night’s match.
Hope @Lukeshaw23 makes a full and speedy recovery…hate seeing young athletes getting injured like that😔

Shaw moved to United from Southampton in a £27m deal in 2014.
After initially struggling to hold down a starting place under Louis van Gaal last season, Shaw has been ever-present in the United side this term.
