Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger: Alexis Sanchez back to his best

The Arsenal manager says Alexis Sanchez has been a different player in training

Alexis Sanchez is back to his best, according to Arsene Wenger.

The Arsenal forward netted his first hat-trick for the north London side in a 5-2 victory over Leicester City at King Power Stadium in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon.

He is back to his level. He won a big competition with Chile – the Copa America – and to adjust again to a competitive level when you come back takes some time

Sanchez had failed to score in his previous five top-flight appearances this season before his treble at high-flying Leicester, ending his goalless run for the Gunners.

And Arsenal manager Wenger revealed that he had noticed a difference in the Chilean in training in the lead up to the Foxes clash.

“I think he is. I think I have plenty of players who are world-class but you always have to understand what the definition of that is,” Wenger is quoted as saying by London Evening Standard.

“Overall he is a striker who is mobile and works hard for the team and when the team plays well he can score goals.

“He is back to his level. He won a big competition with Chile – the Copa America – and to adjust again to a competitive level when you come back takes some time.

“We could see in training already a different player in the last week or two.

“He showed that in this game and overall I thought we always looked dangerous going forwards.”

Walcott and Olivier Giroud also netted for the Gunners in their 5-2 win at King Power Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

Arsenal return to Premier League action when they host Manchester United at Emirates Stadium next Sunday afternoon.
