Arsenal star congratulates Man United legend Cristiano Ronaldo on landmark

Petr Cech is impressed with Cristiano Ronaldo's tally of 500 career goals

Petr Cech was among the first to congratulate Cristiano Ronaldo on his 500th career goal.

The Real Madrid forward scored his landmark goal in a 2-0 victory over Malmo in the Champions League group stage in Finland on Wednesday night.

The Portugal international has only beaten Cech once during his career so far, netting United’s equaliser in their dramatic Champions League final win in 2008.

While the Czech goalkeeper presumably hasn’t forgotten the pain of being part of the Chelsea side that lost to United on penalties despite saving Ronaldo’s spot-kick, the current Arsenal No1 showed a touch of class to send a message to the Madrid star.

Ronaldo has already scored five times in six La Liga appearances for Los Blancos this season.

The former United winger has also netted five goals in just two Champions League games, leaving Madrid top of Group A ahead of Paris Saint-Germain thanks to their superior goal difference.
