Arsenal star vows to bounce back from poor performance

Olivier Giroud vows to bounce back after the Arsenal striker was booed during France's win over Serbia

Olivier Giroud has vowed to bounce back after the Arsenal striker was jeered during France’s 2-1 win over Serbia on Monday night.

The forward failed to find the net as the Euro 2016 hosts continued their preparations for next summer’s tournament with victory in the friendly clash.

Arsenal star Giroud squandered a number of opportunities and was criticised for his performance during the friendly win.

However, the 28-year-old insists that he has the mental strength needed to respond as the forward now turns his attentions to Arsenal’s clash with Stoke City in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon.

Giroud told Maxifoot: “The job of a striker is to be applauded when we score goals and when it is the contrary, people are unhappy.

“It will not be the last time, but I have already shown that I have the mental strength to get the best out of myself every time.

“I will take refuge in my work and I will bounce back. I am not worried.”
