Arsenal transfers: David Seaman expects January signings
David Seaman is expecting Arsenal to bring in reinforcements during the January transfer window
David Seaman is expecting Arsenal to bring in reinforcements during the January transfer window as Arsene Wenger looks to bolster his squad.
Much has been made of Wenger’s decision not to bring in any new outfield players during the summer transfer window, with goalkeeper Petr Cech the only new arrival at the club following his switch from Chelsea.
The Gunners were linked with a host of players during the summer window, including the likes of Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema and Napoli forward Gonzalo Higuain.
However, Wenger instead opted to put his faith in his current crop of stars and not sign any outfield players.
Former Gunners goalkeeper Seaman is expecting the north London side to be very active in the winter transfer window as Wenger looks to guide his side to a Premier League title challenge.
Seaman is quoted as saying by Sports Mole: “I’m sure in the January window there will be movement. If they get to January in a strong position, I’m sure he will strengthen again.
“It is brave that he has not listened to everyone and gone and spent money but he is in the same mould as Sir Alex Ferguson – so many people think they know more than Wenger but I’m sorry, they don’t. He knows the club better than anyone and knows what they need.”
Arsenal take on Tottenham Hotspur in the third round of the League Cup at White Hart Lane on Wednesday night.
