Chelsea star Kurt Zouma explains comments on Arsenal villain Diego Costa

The Chelsea defender says Diego Costa is a player who likes to put opponents under pressure

Kurt Zouma has spoken of his respect for Diego Costa after the Chelsea defender was reported to have called his team-mate “a cheat”.

The Blues striker was the chief protagonist in Chelsea’s 2-0 victory over nine-man Arsenal at Stamford Bridge in the Premier League on Saturday.

Costa initially clashed with Laurent Koscielny as he appeared to strike the defender in the face before Gabriel Paulista came to the aid of his team-mate.

However, Arsenal’s Brazil international was issued with a red card for kicking out at Costa after the pair had both been booked for their confrontation.

Speaking to the media after Chelsea’s win, Zouma described Costa as a “guy who likes to cheat a lot”, however, the France international has since clarified his comments.

Zouma broke the deadlock at Stamford Bridge after he headed past former team-mate Petr Cech in the second half.
