Andy Cole and Paul McGrath take to Twitter after Manchester United edge to 2-1 victory over Wolfsburg

Chris Smalling secured Manchester United’s first win of the Champions League season after the Red Devils came from behind to beat Wolfsburg 2-1 at Old Trafford.

Daniel Caligiuri finished off a slick move in the sixth minute to put United on the back foot following a sluggish start from Louis van Gaal’s side in their crunch European game.

However, Juan Mata levelled from the penalty spot after Caligiuri had handled in the area before the Spaniard produced a brilliant assist to tee up Smalling for the defender’s 53rd-minute winner.
