Derby confirm interest in signing Man United starlet
Derby County are interested in snapping up James Wilson from Manchester United until the end of the season
Manchester United striker James Wilson is a loan target for Derby County, the club’s manager Paul Clement has confirmed.
The 19-year-old has been heavily linked with a temporary switch away from Old Trafford as he bids to gain regular first-team experience.
Wilson is expected to leave United in the coming days until the end of the season, and Clement has confirmed that Derby are keen on bringing the teenager to the club – but are yet to hear back from the Red Devils following their enquiry.
Clement is quoted as saying by Metro: “It is a possibility but not a certainty.
“We have shown an interest. He is a very talented player and a number of other clubs have shown an interest as well.
“We are waiting to hear back from Manchester United.”
Manchester United return to Premier League action when they host Liverpool at Old Trafford on Saturday evening.
The Red Devils, who are currently fifth in the top-flight table, are looking to return to winning ways after their surprise 2-1 loss to Swansea City in their last outing.
Both United and Liverpool have taken seven points from their opening four games.
