Eden Hazard: Chelsea’s win over Arsenal will help my confidence
Eden Hazard says his goal against Arsenal will help him rediscover his top form for Chelsea
Eden Hazard believes that his role in Chelsea’s 2-0 win over Arsenal at Stamford Bridge on Saturday will help boost his confidence after a quiet start to the season for the Belgian.
The PFA player of the year, who scored 14 goals last season, netted his first strike of the campaign in stoppage time against the Gunners when his shot was deflected past Petr Cech by Arsenal defender Calum Chambers.
Hazard’s performances have been under scrutiny during the first few weeks of the season as Chelsea have struggled to find form in the opening stages of the new campaign.
However, the playmaker insists that he is feeling well and believes that his goal against the Gunners will help him on his way to rediscovering his top form.
Hazard told Chelsea’s website: “I am feeling good. Last year I had a good season. I have not lost my quality.
“I had a good game and scored a goal with a bit of luck but that will be good for my confidence.
“After the complicated start to the season we’ve had we had to win against a good team.”
The win over the Gunners left Chelsea 15th in the Premier League table after taking seven points from their first six games.
Chelsea travel to Walsall in the third round of the League Cup on Wednesday night, before hosting Newcastle at Stamford Bridge on Saturday evening.
