Gary Neville reacts to Diego Costa’s three-game ban after Chelsea v Arsenal
Gary Neville has not been impressed by the Football Association's decision to ban Diego Costa for three games
Gary Neville has revealed his surprise at the Football Association’s decision to ban Diego Costa for three games in the wake of Chelsea’s 2-0 win over Arsenal last weekend.
The Blues striker escaped with a yellow card during the game at Stamford Bridge on Saturday but was later charged with violent conduct for his clash with Arsenal defender Laurent Koscielny.
Costa denied the charge, but the FA upheld their decision on Tuesday, meaning the Spain international will now miss the Blues’ next three games.
However, former Manchester United defender Neville feels that the punishment does not fit the crime and says Costa should have been banned for a maximum of one game.
3 games for that. At worse it was two yellows = 1 game. Violent? No way..

Meanwhile, Gabriel Paulista’s red card has been rescinded by the FA after Arsenal appealed the defender’s punishment from the game.
The Brazilian took to social media on Tuesday night to thank Arsenal fans for their support after his three-game ban was withdrawn.
