Impressive stat shows why Arsenal must stick with Gabriel Paulista

Gabriel Paulista has a very impressive record since joining Arsenal back in January

Gabriel Paulista has made a solid start to life at Arsenal since his transfer to the north London club back in January.

The Brazilian arrived at Emirates Stadium with the aim of earning a regular spot in Arsene Wenger’s starting line-up and breaking up the long-standing partnership of Laurent Koscielny and Per Mertesacker in the heart of the north London side’s defence.

The 24-year-old defender has featured in each of Arsenal’s last three Premier League games, helping the north London side keep clean sheets against Liverpool, Newcastle United and Stoke City.

And this stat revealed by Guardian journalist David Hytner has served to underline the impact Gabriel has had when he has featured for Arsenal since his transfer.

Arsenal are yet to lose a game in which Gabriel has featured, and of those matches, the Gunners have won 10 and drawn one.

It suggests that the defender could well be the man to take over from Per Mertesacker on a regular basis.

Gabriel will be hoping to feature when Arsenal take on Dinamo Zagreb in their Champions League group-stage opener on Wednesday night.
