Jan Vertonghen: Why I’m so happy reported Man United target stayed at Tottenham

Jan Vertonghen heaps praise on Hugo Lloris, describing the Tottenham Hotspur star as "unbelievable"

Jan Vertonghen has heaped praise on Hugo Lloris, describing the Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper as “unbelievable”.

The France international shot-stopper played a pivotal role in helping the north London side pick up three points against Crystal Palace at the weekend as he kept a clean sheet in the 1-0 victory at White Hart Lane.

Lloris was touted as a potential target for Manchester United during the summer transfer window amid the uncertainty around David De Gea’s future at the club.

However, the 28-year-old ended up staying at White Hart Lane, and Spurs defender Vertonghen has revealed his admiration for the goalkeeper.

Vertonghen is quoted as saying by Inside Futbol: “He is an unbelievable goalkeeper.

“It’s difficult for him because most of the game he has nothing to do and out of nothing he makes maybe the best save of his life.

“That’s why he is a number one goalkeeper.”
