Juan Mata and more: Twitter reacts as David De Gea signs new Man United deal
Juan Mata and Jamie Carragher both tweet their thoughts as David De Gea signs a new four-year contract at Manchester United
Juan Mata and Jamie Carragher were among the big names to take to social media after David De Gea committed his future to Manchester United by signing a new four-year contract on Friday.
The Spaniard had looked to be on course to join Real Madrid on transfer deadline day last week but the deal fell through after the necessary paperwork was not submitted in time.
De Gea put pen to paper on his new contract on Friday, with the deal including the option for a further year.
It means that the 24-year-old goalkeeper could be in line to feature when United host Liverpool at Old Trafford in the Premier League on Saturday evening.
The news inevitably prompted plenty of activity on Twitter – and here are some of our favourite updates.
