Juan Mata runs rule over Man United starlet
The Manchester United midfielder talks up Andreas Pereira
Juan Mata believes Andreas Pereira is capable of contributing “good things” to Manchester United this season.
The Brazilian youngster scored his first United goal in a 4-0 victory over Ipswich Town in their League Cup third-round clash at Old Trafford last week.
Pereira has scored one goal in three senior appearances for the Red Devils over the past 12 months or so.
And Mata, who scored United’s third goal in a 3-0 victory over Sunderland at Old Trafford on Saturday, talked up the South American teenager.
“With his great goal, Andreas Pereira showed everyone how talented he is,” Mata wrote in his blog, One Hour Behind.
“He’s eager to keep growing as a player and I’m sure he will keep contributing good things to the team.”
The Red Devils eased to their third successive Premier League win courtesy of goals from Memphis Depay, Wayne Rooney and Mata at Old Trafford at the weekend.
It is the first time United have been in first place since Sir Alex Ferguson claimed his 13th and final Premier League crown in May 2013.
United face Wolfsburg in the Champions League at Old Trafford on Wednesday night.
