Jurgen Klopp would relish Liverpool challenge, says German expert
Jan Aage Fjortoft explains why he believes Jurgen Klopp would accept Liverpool offer
Jurgen Klopp would welcome the challenge to restore Liverpool to their former glory, according to Jan Aage Fjortoft.
Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers is coming under increasing pressure after the Merseyside outfit required a penalty shootout to beat Carlisle United and book their place in the fourth round on Wednesday night.
Earlier on Wednesday, the Reds were forced to deny that they have approached former AC Milan and Chelsea manager Carlo Ancelotti as a potential successor for Rodgers.
Klopp, who left Borussia Dortmund after a decorated five-year spell in charge, has been linked with the Liverpool role and was previously favourite with the bookmakers to replace the Northern Irishman.
And Bundesliga expert Fjortoft stated his belief that Klopp would be open to becoming Liverpool’s next manager should Rodgers get the sack.
Do I think Rodgers will be fired soon? No idea Do I think Klopp could see Liverpool as a club he can get back to former glory? Yes! I do
