Liverpool defender sends warning to Man United ahead of Old Trafford clash

Dejan Lovren warns Manchester United that Liverpool are out to return to winning ways at Old Trafford

Dejan Lovren has warned Manchester United that Liverpool will be determined to return to winning ways when they travel to Old Trafford after the international break.

Brendan Rodgers’ men are still reeling from their shock 3-0 loss to West Ham United at Anfield over the weekend which left the Merseyside outfit seventh in the Premier League table and level on points with United.

The Red Devils also head into the clash against the Reds on the back of a defeat after their surprise 2-1 loss to Swansea City.

Liverpool travel to Old Trafford to take on Manchester United on 12 September as they look to bounce back from their loss – and Reds defender Lovren is determined to help Rodgers’ men return to winning ways against their fierce rivals.

Lovren told Liverpool’s website: “A game like this, it happens. Mistakes happen and they were cheap goals [the goals conceded against West Ham].

“But I don’t think it will shake myself and the team so we will go again straight away to find our form and win at Manchester United.

“We need to keep our heads up in a tough moment. We need to work hard and forget this as soon as possible. I know that we will do better, definitely better. We have to do it for us and the fans.”
