Louis van Gaal fires warning at Arsenal ahead of Man United clash

Louis van Gaal is confident that his Manchester United side can claim victory at Arsenal for the second season in a row

Louis van Gaal has insisted that he is confident his Manchester United team can claim victory at Arsenal for the second season running next weekend.

The Dutchman’s Red Devils side moved top of the Premier League table on Saturday thanks to a 3-0 win over Sunderland at Old Trafford.

Van Gaal’s men sealed a 2-1 win at The Emirates last November during his first season in charge at Old Trafford.

And the United boss has underlined his confidence that his side can take three points away from north London for the second successive season next Sunday.

“Next week we have Arsenal away and I think it is one of the most difficult teams to beat in the Premier League, but we won also last year there, so it is possible,” Van Gaal told his post-match news conference on Saturday.

“I think that Manchester United can win against every team, but you need also luck.”

Arsenal returned to winning ways in the Premier League on Saturday as Alexis Sanchez’s hat-trick helped Arsene Wenger’s men wrap up a 5-2 win over Leicester City.

The Gunners could move level on points with United by beating Van Gaal’s men next weekend.

And Wenger admits that the title race is now more open than it was a couple of weeks ago.

“Knowing that Tottenham has beaten Manchester City today it makes the whole league tight,” Wenger told reporters after Saturday’s win.

“Two weeks ago you had Manchester City playing West Ham at home so you would expect that they would make the difference.”

Who will win on Sunday?
