Louis van Gaal warns Man United fans to give new signing time
Louis van Gaal says Manchester United fans must be patient with Anthony Martial following his transfer to Old Trafford
Louis van Gaal has told Manchester United fans to be patient with Anthony Martial as the teenager adapts to the rigours of the Premier League.
The Red Devils concluded a deal to sign the 19-year-old forward from Monaco on transfer deadline day as Van Gaal brought in his sixth new signing of the summer at Old Trafford.

United are believed to have splashed out £36m on the deal to bring Martial to Old Trafford.
His hefty price-tag is likely to place some serious expectation on him early on, but Van Gaal insists that the player must be given time to adapt to life in England.
Van Gaal told United’s website: “Anthony is a naturally talented, young, multi-functional forward with great potential. We have been watching him for a while now and he has developed immensely during his time at AS Monaco.
“I am delighted he has joined Manchester United as I believe this is the right club for him to continue his development as a young player.
“He has all the attributes to become a top football player; however we need to give him time to adjust to his new environment and the rhythm of the Premier League.”
Martial, who scored eight goals in 31 Ligue 1 games last season, has signed a four-year deal with the option for a fifth year at United.
United, who are fifth in the top flight after four games, return to Premier League action when they take on Liverpool after the international break.
