Luke Shaw injury: Former Liverpool striker gives advice to Man United star

Djibril Cisse knows a thing or two about leg breaks

Djibril Cisse is a player who knows a thing or two about sustaining a broken leg.

Manchester United defender Luke Shaw suffered a double leg break during a 2-1 defeat by PSV Eindhoven in the Champions League on Tuesday night.

The former Liverpool striker fractured his left and right legs during his career – the first occasion against Blackburn Rovers and the second time on international duty with France.

Cisse made a full recovery on both occasions and fulfilled a successful professional career, which saw the forward played for nine different clubs over a 16-year spell.

And the retired France international sent some advice to Shaw on Twitter from his experience of suffering two leg breaks during his playing career.

Cisse scored 13 goals in 49 games in the Premier League for Liverpool.

The Frenchman went on to play for Sunderland and Queens Park Rangers.

The 34-year-old is currently a free agent.
