Luke Shaw took to Twitter to thank his followers for their warm messages of support after the Manchester United defender suffered a suspected broken leg during Tuesday’s Champions League clash against PSV Eindhoven.
The 20-year-old suffered the horrific-looking injury in the 15th minute of United’s group-stage opener in the Netherlands when he was brought down by a hefty challenge by Hector Moreno.
There was an outpouring of support for the former Southampton man on social media after he was carried off on a stretcher midway through the first half of the game.
And the player himself used his official Twitter account to thank his followers for their kind messages as he vowed to come back stronger than ever.

The defender required lengthy treatment on the pitch before he was carried off on a stretcher wearing an oxygen mask to warm applause from the crowd.
He has made five Premier League appearances for United so far this season.
