Man United deliver latest injury update ahead of PSV trip
Wayne Rooney is ruled out of Manchester United's trip to PSV Eindhoven in the Champions League due to injury
Wayne Rooney has been ruled out of Manchester United’s Champions League clash with PSV Eindhoven due to injury, the Red Devils have confirmed.
The England striker missed United’s 3-1 win over Liverpool in the Premier League on Saturday due to the undisclosed problem sustained in training last week and as expected has been left out of the squad travelling to Holland.
Speaking after United’s victory over Liverpool at the weekend, manager Louis van Gaal said that he was hopeful the forward would be fit for Sunday’s trip to Southampton in the Premier League.
Elsewhere, James Wilson and Andreas Pereira have both travelled with Van Gaal’s squad ahead of their group-stage opener. Pereira suffered an injury while away with Brazil’s Under-23 side but is fit for selection again.
