Manchester United fans have been reassured that Adnan Januzaj will be returning to Old Trafford following the conclusion of his loan spell at Borussia Dortmund at the end of the season.

The Belgium youngster sealed a temporary move to the German side over the weekend after being deemed surplus to requirements at Old Trafford by manager Louis van Gaal.

The move prompted suggestions that Dortmund could have the option to make the transfer permanent at the end of the current campaign.

However, Press Association journalist Paul Hirst claims that there is no such option in place and United are fully expecting Januzaj to return to the club next summer.

Hirst posted on Twitter:

United are currently fifth in the Premier League after slumping to a 2-1 defeat by Swansea City at the Liberty Stadium on Sunday.

The Red Devils return to top-flight action when they take on Liverpool after the international break on 12 September.
